Reflections on the December Solstice 2019
We welcomed the Solstice with our online Octal Meditation with a special focus on wishes for well-being to Australia – the location of the Solstice sub-solar point, where record-breaking heatwaves and fires have been ravaging the continent.
Our meditation was followed by engaged conversation about gratitude, loss, growth, friendship and community through the year that has passed. We discussed lessons from the fires, and the possibility of restoration, regeneration and resilience. We talked about traditional ecological knowledge and fire landscape management in Australia and California.
Here’s the recording of the session, for those who missed it (or participants who wish to review):
What are some things you are grateful for from this last orbit around the sun?
What are some things you hope to leave behind you in the next orbit?
How do you want to feel at this time next year?
Please share your thoughts in the comments. Ubuntu and agaya to you!
