As an ecospiritual organization seeking to grow a global movement, we have many opportunities to endorse initiatives and open letters around climate, habitat protection, social justice, and the rights of Nature. These efforts are tangible, collective expressions of ubuntu and agaya in the world.

This Solstice is Dec 20th/21st, when the sun is directly overhead at the Tropic of Capricorn. The sun being overhead in southern Africa, and the Great Conjunction of Jupiter and Saturn at dusk, make this Solstice a special time for honoring ubuntu. Novasutras celebrates with a live online guided meditation focusing on global well-being and loving-kindness.

Mindfulness and meditation practices can work in service to ubuntu, by improving emotional resilience and compassionate awareness for healing divisions between people.
We’ve made a short video illustrating some alternatives to hugs and handshakes, that can allow us to keep our distance physically (important for slowing the spread of the novel coronavirus, COVID-19) while acknowledging our emotional and spiritual connections. Two options to share agaya & ubuntu while remaining safe during an epidemic include the “Namaste” gesture (anjali mudra) and the “heart connection” gesture.
As the Novasutras Movement emerges, we need a few people to come forward and help make this collaborative vision a reality. In order to get securely rooted so we can begin to really thrive, we need teams of people who can help us reach more people, through social media, outreach, writing, audio/video work, local organizing, fundraising and creative arts.
