Celebrate the midpoint between the solstice and the equinox February 2nd & 3rd. We will reconnect with the beauty and wonder of Nature, with messages of global wellness, joy and loving-kindness for all beings, in this Octal Celebration of the Earth-Sun dance. Click below for links and more info.
This Solstice is Dec 20th/21st, when the sun is directly overhead at the Tropic of Capricorn. The sun being overhead in southern Africa, and the Great Conjunction of Jupiter and Saturn at dusk, make this Solstice a special time for honoring ubuntu. Novasutras celebrates with a live online guided meditation focusing on global well-being and loving-kindness.
As an expansion of our traditional Solstice celebration, Novasutras is partnering with the organizers of World Unity Week. Events begin June 20th, and go on through the 27th, with topics of climate action, global peace partnerships, interfaith harmony, interracial justice, and the future we want to create together.
Long-term goals and big projects of the Novasutras movement: Defending and protecting the environment, agaya and ubuntu --
Responding to disasters -- Rebuilding after disasters -- Supporting social justice causes -- Education -- Preserving knowledge and culture -- Spreading joy and celebration
An opportunity to review our Octal Meditation and discussion from the December 2019 Solstice. We talked about gratitude, loss, growth, friendship, community, restoration, regeneration and resilience, with a particular emphasis on the record-breaking heatwaves and fires in Australia.
An opportunity to review our meditation and discussion from November 7th: the Autumn Cross-Quarter, which often includes rituals to remember and honor the dead. We also happened to get a mention on a local radio show this Cross-Quarter.
The autumn cross-quarter often includes rituals to remember and honor the dead, such as Samhain, Halloween and the Day of the Dead. Join Novasutras' Cross-Quarter meditation and conversation Thurs Nov 7th, 2019, 17:00 UTC.
